In wintertime...

...cocoa is on top of the list, how good does this look!? It's extra tasty when you go skiing and you get back to your cabin feeling exhausted after a big day in the slopes. Mmmm...

Cold, and 4 weeks till Xmas...

Just struggling with some layouts at work at the moment. Very hectic here, working long hours with stressful days..
It's getting really really cold, bought a new warm jacket the other day, I look like a giant... Snowed yesterday and today the sun's shining, well, for the few hours it's up.
Last weekend: played tennis (nowadays a highlight of my life), hung out with Vickan (priceless!) and did some freelance work (rubbish).
1st of December on Sunday, insane, I've been in Sweden for almost 5 months.......!! Not a day goes by without making plans to go back to Australia.. At least I get to open the first box in my chocolate calendar on Sunday! ;)

What do people want to do for New Years btw?

ICom portrait

Just discovered our new portraits are up on the intranet, thought I'd share it with you...
Thursday afternoon and I cannot wait for the weekend to arrive! No massive plans, just want sleep ins...
Some activities are on the cards tho, saturday - tennis, shop for a WARM jacket, and soccer/cocktail party with Vickan. Sunday - most likely hungover, possibly another game of tennis, hard to resist when it's sooo much fun!!
Not much has happened during the week, I get up early in the morning and come home late so not much else to do but work..
Half of November is finally gone, worst month of the year. (Best one in Australia?)

Monday morning

This is my temporary desk, moving soon to sit with the Art Directors but for now it works fine. My computer screen is massive compared to my own little tiny laptop... How good is that!
Weekend was good, no partying, just tennis, picking up some friends from a wedding and freelance work. Still very tired tho but I guess that's pretty standard for a Monday morning.

First week over

About to finish off my firt week at IKEA Communication. It's been.... slow. Not very well organised, got my computer TODAY. Excellent. However, I'm prepared to start work on Monday but could as well have been in Spain charging my batteries and build up some excitement for next week.
Anyway, I got a flat in Malmö for 3 months, it's a gorgeous 1 bedroom flat, abt 5-10 mins ride with bicycle from Central Station. Moving in dec 1st. Can't wait, commuting to work takes abt 2 hrs from where I am now..
Weekend plans: Tonight Friday - dinner and wine with mum, too exhausted to go out, getting up at 5 am is a pain...
Tomorrow - tennis, that's it. Sunday - some freelance work, gym and go to bed early for another 5am start on Monday morning.
Don't expect any drunken calls this weekend. Will try and have a healthy one....

In Malmö

Went south for a day of shopping and chilling in cafes. Great day, sun's shining and it's almost like Spain..... Except 20 degrees colder.

New job,

Well, I'm now an Art Director assistant at IKEA Communications, it's great, awsome opportunity, but everyone else seem more happy about my new job than I am? So why's that? First of all, I think I made myself more prepared to move back to Australia than I thought. Emotionally I was already there... And now when I got this job it messed up my mind a bit.
No Spain either, I'm starting on Monday.

I've given the whole thing a couple of days, and I'm starting to feel better about it, I'm even getting excited about the job! Only problem now is to find a flat, THAT could be a big challenge...

Anyway, we're still considering New Years in the ski slopes, we just need to organise accommodation and who's coming..

Next visit to Sydney will hopefully be in February-March 08.

Some good points...

TOP 10 Reasons why Beer is better than Religion:

10. No one will kill you for not drinking Beer.
9. Beer doesn't tell you how to have sex.
8. Beer has never caused a major war.
7. They don't force Beer on minors who can't think for themselves.
6. When you have a Beer, you don't knock on people's doors trying to give it away.
5. Nobody's ever been burned at the stake, hanged, or tortured over his brand of Beer.
4. You don't have to wait 2000+ years for a second Beer.
3. There are laws saying Beer labels can't lie to you.
2. You can prove you have a Beer.
1. If you've devoted your life to Beer, there are groups to help you stop.

Cheers!

A holiday in Spain?

Yep, I got the job as Art Director at IKEA Communication, well Art Director assistant to begin with, which I'm more than happy with since I just graduated college. Bit confused whether I shud be happy or depressed, I was really preparing to go for my plan B and move back to Australia in January, and now when that's not happening I'm already making plans for when I can move back... Who knows, but I have definitely started saving for a cheeky visit at some point next year.
Anyway, before I start my new job I might take off to Spain for a week, some sun-therapy before my new serious life begins.. I'm heading to the office tomorrow to discuss some formalities, then just head to airport on Tuesday or Wednesday and see where I end up. There's some last minute trips going around as well so might grab one of those and bring my dear friend Victoria along, can't wait!
Lie on a beach during the day and then drink Sangria until morning arrives. Couldn't get any better.
Fingers crossed new job lets me go before I've even started tho.... Could be an issue.

Frost - winter wardrobe time

Yep, it's officially winter... Frost in the morning, ice on the car window which is a pain when you're stressing off to work. It's time to put on some really warm clothes cause it's freeeeeeezing cold! (At least our houses are warm enough to walk around in t-shirt) Off to work in a few minutes, Saturday, H&M will be very very busy. That's just fun tho, and no doubt I will bring another bag home with the company's logo on it...

Roberto Cavalli at H&M

As far as I know, the whole world already know Roberto Cavalli is the next big designer for H&M.. I think it's interesting, his collection (20pcs for men and 25pcs for women incl underwear and matching accessories) is unique, highly personal and extravagant for glamorous everyday or party. The pieces are rather expensive for being H&M though, but they are very limited and very hot!

Roberto Cavalli dresses Hollywood's finest, and now he can dress the not-so-famous as well. Cavalli follows in the footsteps of other high-end designers like Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, and Vikor & Rolf, who have all designed collections for H&M.
Cavalli's designs targets young people, who love high fashion, but can't necessarily afford the high-fashion price tag.

The Roberto Cavalli for H&M collection will be available in around 200 selected H&M stores worldwide from (and should I say only) 8 November 2007.

Skiing anyone?

Me and Bob were discussing Åre (a nice skiresort in north of Sweden) for New Years, anyone keen? Since there's a bunch of aussies coming over we figured it would be a fun experience for them to have New Years in the snow for a change, and there are no guarantees we'll get any in the south... This way we'll get both skiing and awsome parties!

New Phone!

I have finally got a new phone! After loosing my beloved phone in Malmö soon after my arrival from Sydney (loosing it there after all those adventures in Darling Harbour is rather ironic...) I now received this beauty from Sony Ericsson. This is why I've got a new blog as well as I can upload photos from my phone straight to the blog wherever I am (techniques these days...)

Updates in life: still working at H&M - yes, I'm buying more clothes than ever before.
Went on a second interview for Art Director position at IKEA Communications, have no idea how it went, they called me on Tuesday and interview was on Wednesday, very unprepared. But in case I don't get the job there is a massive chance I'm returning to Sydney by the beginning of next year. Sweden is always Sweden and I'm not ready to settle here yet. But I will keep you posted!
